Kansas City-spring break-Day 2

Sunday we headed back to Crown Center for an early lunch at a train restaurant called Fritz's. Several friends with kids had told me about this place and the neat train environment and they were right--Caden and Brynn loved it and the adults were pretty entertained as well. The kids both got an engineer hat and then we ordered our food by telephone and our food was delivered by a train that ran above the booths on a track. We sat right by the kitchen so every few minutes a train would pop out and it was fun to see whose food it was delivering. We then headed for Union Station for more train fun!

Our family outside Crown Center--ready for a fun day.

The kids at Fritz's.

Grandma and Caden watching the train deliver food!

The white car is the train engine delivering a tray of food.

Daddy and Caden watching our food come down the tray.

After lunch we walked over to Union Station--they had a free model train exhibit which was amazing--3 big rooms packed with cool model trains--I bet we all enjoyed the model trains for more than an hour. Mom and Dad then headed to the museum part to see Princess Diana's wedding dress and more--which is in KC now and Layne and I took the kids to Science City which is a big area filled with hands on kid items.

I love this picture--Daddy and the kids watching the trains coming and going.

The model train exhibit--very cool and FREE!

Caden loved the trains and has since been asking for one for his birthday!

Every time a train came through--Brynn made sure to tell us--"Train Coming!"
One exhibit had a Thomas the Train--I think she watched Thomas for 30 minutes!

They also had a wooden train set for kids to play at--Caden took full advantage over that!
Pictures of Science City coming soon!
