In honor of Mom and Dad's 40th Wedding Anniversary on Aug. 6th, we took a family trip to
St. Louis and rode the train from Kansas City to St. Louis for some fun and a Cardinals Game. In July, we also had an adult only day in Kansas City and celebrated by going to the Titanic exhibit at Union Station and a yummy supper at the Cheesecake Factory--and yes, we ate cheesecake!
Pretty awesome to be celebrating 40th years together--we had fun celebrating with you and love you both lots!
Memorial Day Weekend we headed to KC and boarded this train at 8:15 in the morning to head to St. Louis. We had a great experience riding the train--the seats were roomy, we could take food with us, they did not check our luggage, and you could watch videos, play the ipad, or read and relax--the trip took about 5 hours.
Breakfast on the train!
You could see the pretty river along many parts of the trip.
We arrived in St. Louis around 2:00 and headed to our hotel. The kids of course could not wait to get into the pool, so we headed there first (pics below) and then had supper at a Pizza place before heading to the Cardinals Game.
Caden and Brynn outside the Pizza Place--trying to use up some energy while the pizza cooked!
Daddy and the kids enjoying the pool--mommy braved it for awhile, but then I needed to take some pictures--nice hotel, but the pool was not great--water seemed a little too green and the bottom of the pool was ripply--oh well--the kids loved it!
Time for some baseball action--it was pretty hot til the sun went down, but always fun to see another stadium. The Cardinals lost that night though--bummer!
We headed back to KC the next day--I think that is the only thing I would have changed--it was a lot of train riding in 2 days, so I would have stayed an extra day, but it was also nice to get home and have a day at home!
Thanks Mom and Dad for the memories and the trip--we had a great time!
