In loving memory...

This week we lost one of our first "kids." Our cat Ziggy passed away and will be greatly missed! She was only 6 years old and we could tell for about the last week she was losing weight and there was a few other weird signs, but I never took her to the vet as I think in my heart of hearts I knew something was really wrong. It was a hard way to start my day back to school though, but she had a great last couple days--playing outside in the awesome weather and snuggling in our nice, warm heated bed. So far, she is the only cat I have had that fetches a little ball and brings it back to you! You were one of a kind Ziggy! These are not the best pictures, but all I could seem to find!

She loved laying on her back and playing!

Always finding a new spot to sleep!

In our sadness, Brynn brought some humor to the situation as we chose to bury her together by the creek by our house. Brynn wanted to touch her (which we let her briefly) and hold her (which we did not let) after she had died and had many questions about why we were burying her and when could we dig her up and bring her home--in fact the next morning she asked me, "Now can we go get Ziggy and bring her home." Bless her heart, not 100% grasping the concept, but made me smile--Caden just wanted to know when our other cat would die and when he would die--a little harder to answer! After the intial shock, some tears, many hugs from family and friends, and some yummy icecream, I am able to love and cherish my cat memories and see what the future holds!

  1. I'm so sorry to hear that! Leave it to Brynn to bring the humor though. Love that girl.
